Objective

EcoCapita supports private banks and organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa to secure Green Climate Fund financing for climate mitigation and adaptation projects. The goal is to create well-structured proposals that align with global climate objectives, advance sustainable development, and address local environmental challenges.

02

Scope

The work evaluates project feasibility, aligns proposals with GCF investment criteria and national climate strategies, and supports compliance with environmental and social safeguards. Financial modelling, risk assessment, and co-financing strategies help strengthen each project’s viability.

03

Activities

  • Proposal development: design objectives, mitigation strategies, and monitoring frameworks that respond to GCF requirements.
  • Capacity building: train stakeholders to navigate GCF processes.
  • Stakeholder engagement: collaborate with governments, private-sector organizations, and communities to build partnerships and support implementation.
  • Post-approval support: advise on project execution, monitoring, and reporting.

Intended outcome

This integrated approach improves proposal quality, builds local capacity, and helps secure funding for transformative climate action that strengthens resilience and sustainable growth across Sub-Saharan Africa.
