Objective
EcoCapita supports projects under Kenya’s African Rural and Agricultural Credit Development Mechanism (ARCDM), providing professional services for the verification, issuance, and transaction of Certified Emission Reduction credits under the CDM. The work covers the Mau Forest Complex (Project 9789) and Aberdare Forest Complex (Project 9785), supporting sustainable forestry, carbon sequestration, and rural development.
Scope
EcoCapita reviews project data, assesses plantation areas, and develops monitoring reports aligned with UNFCCC standards. It coordinates with the Designated Operational Entity for validation and verification, analyzes the CER transaction market, and trains stakeholders for effective project delivery.

- Prepare inception reports and periodic monitoring documentation.

Expected results
Verified CER issuance can expand Kenya’s access to carbon markets, strengthen stakeholder capacity, and contribute to sustainable forestry, rural development, and global emission-reduction efforts.
