Objective
EcoCapita is participating in the revision of Oman’s Nationally Determined Contribution to support the country’s response to climate change. The work aligns the NDC with the Paris Agreement’s temperature goals, the Sustainable Development Goals, and national climate priorities, while producing actionable recommendations that strengthen coherence, integration, and effectiveness.
Scope
The assessment examines Oman’s mitigation and adaptation objectives, their alignment with the SDGs, and consistency with long-term net-zero targets. It also considers international cooperation policy, coherence with national frameworks such as Oman’s Voluntary National Review, and the integration of climate and energy goals.
Activities
- NDC assessment: analyze goals, strategies, and measures against international and national climate targets.
- International cooperation analysis: assess climate finance, technology transfer, and partnerships, then recommend ways to capture opportunities and manage challenges.
- Stakeholder engagement: incorporate input from experts, civil society, and international partners for a holistic and inclusive review.
