Objective

Agricapita aims to support sustainable forest management and reduce deforestation in Lao PDR through REDD+. The programme assesses and develops projects that conserve forests, reduce emissions, promote sustainable land use, and foster economic growth.

02

Scope

The feasibility study evaluates forest-conservation, emission-reduction, and sustainable-land-use potential. It considers social, economic, and environmental viability, aligns the work with REDD+ goals, and develops collaborative stakeholder strategies for long-term sustainability.

03

Contribution and activities

  • Engage communities through consultations, equitable benefit sharing, and strong local partnerships.
  • Secure a 30-year memorandum of understanding with the Forest Department.
  • Conduct credible feasibility studies using advanced methodologies with international experts and local NGOs.
  • Develop REDD+ initiatives aligned with CCBA and VCS standards to support premium market positioning.
  • Establish long-term Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements for financial stability.
04

Result

The programme creates a robust framework for REDD+ implementation—strengthening forest conservation, reducing emissions, engaging communities, and enabling sustainable revenue from verified carbon credits. It is intended to demonstrate how environmental integrity and socioeconomic development can advance together.
